Raymond Whitehouse

Raymond Whitehouse was the “Constable” of our art society. He painted Plein Air and was seen alongside the canalways of Netherton, Dudley and Walsall. He had a documentary on ITV made about him. He painted in oils and created small canvases,  showing beach scenes and riverways, canals and landscapes. He was always amused, when people came up and commented to him about his representations. His beautiful techniques of creating realistic clouds are amazing and he always added a splash of colour to intensify the composition. A mildly spoken man and very captivating. He has left behind a legacy of compositions.Ray worked in watercolour and oil and won the watercolour prize in the exhibition.
